Our lowest carb plan!

The Extreme Ketosis plan is ideal for those who want control over their carb intake and want products that will allow them flexibility in their food choices. It is also good for those who need less carbs in get into or stay in ketosis.

If you have read our info pages and decided that our Extreme Ketosis plan is right for you, then this page will go into a lot more detail as to how the Extreme Ketosis plan can work.

When adding products on the Extreme Ketosis plans, you will notice a carb counter on the right hand side of the screen. This will work out your average daily carb intake based on the sachets you chose. Each product has a pop up with a snap shot of info if you hover over the name. Click on the name and go to a detailed nutritional page. Click the X or press 'esc' on your keyboard to leave this page rather than your browser's 'back' button or it empties your basket selections!

Just want packs and no food? You can't on the Extreme Ketosis plan!

On the Extreme Ketosis plan you must add food as the packs are not designed as a sole source of nutrition. This extra food can come from snacks and meals and is in addition to the 4 daily products you receive from us. The HP+ products do have added vitamins, but are not enough to replace a meal and the calories are also lower than a full Meal Replacement. As with all our plans, you must have at least 600 calories each day and it is not possible to have this amount solely with the products you can chose on the Extreme Ketosis plan.

In short - if you don't want to add a "home cooked" meal this is NOT the plan for you!

What can I expect to lose on the Extreme Ketosis plan?

When fully in ketosis your weight loss comes from your body burning stored fat. Therefore calories taken in from protein or fat should not affect your weight loss. Everyone is different but research shows a typical ketosis based weight loss of 1 stone per month. At the start you can expect this to be faster, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. The closer you are to your "healthy weight" target the slower the weight will come off. There are many factors that can speed up and slow down weight loss. If you want support on this, please email Billy for her opinion. Typically, in your first month you can expect a big loss on week one and then much smaller losses for the rest of the month. This is completely normal - frustrating but normal. Your body needs time to get used to less calories and carbs and losing weight.

What is a typical day?

We are often asked what to have and when. Really it is up to you, you can have the packs in any order, any time of the day.

As additional food to your packs is so important on the Extreme Ketosis plan, we hope this page will explain what you might have on a typical day following an Extreme Ketosis plan.

If you are having 3 sachets, a HP bar or Tortitos, a low carb meal and food snacks, a typical day might be:

Breakfast: MRP maple brown sugar porridge, made with water. (124kcal, 10g of carbs)

Mid morning snack: protein - a few slices of ham (75kcal, 0.8g of carbs), or a pack of our HP ham or chorizo (76kcal, 0.8g of carbs per 30 serving/pack)

Lunch: HP+ white choc drink, made water (91kcal, 3.5g of carbs)

Afternoon snack: HP+  Asparagus soup (88kcal, 2.2g of carbs)

Evening meal: 100g of Chicken breast wrapped in 2 slices bacon (251kcal, 0.2g of carbs) , with 100g of veg or salad (broccoli is 34kcal and 7g of carbs per 100g)

Evening snack: HP bar (121kcal, 2.8g of carbs) or bag of tortitos (117kcal, 5g of carbs), "mini continental cheese" not light versions (70kcal, 0g of carbs)

Total for the day 850kcal and 46.2g of protein 26.5g of carbs.

It is OK to add any amount of food and snack throughout the day and evening as long as your carbs are low. Most people following our Extreme Ketosis plans try to stick to 25-30g of carbs per day. It is possible to have less carbs than shown above by taking a few snacks away. Calories are not so important as long as you have at least 600kcal per day. You could have 1000 or more calories per day but some people find better losses by staying close to 600.  It is about experimenting to find the right mix for you.

Why Extreme Ketosis over VLCD or Everyday Ketosis?

If you think that you can stick with our Extreme Ketosis plan then there are many reasons why it may be preferred over a VLCD or Everyday Ketosis plan. In particular in these situations:

  • where you are carb sensitive - if you think you need less carbs for a good, steady weight loss
  • where you have stalled on our VLCD or Everyday Ketosis plan
  • where you are planning to diet non-stop for 4 weeks or more
  • for a special occasion to see a big difference in a short time
  • where you will not miss carbs!
  • where you want your packs to supplement your daily food. The packs are ideal for those who want to have their own cooked foods and the convenience of packs.
  • where you can avoid alcohol
  • if you are happy to drink a lot of plain water, especially if you are sensitive to citric acid
  • where you can be very organised over your food and count every mouthful
  • Ketosis plans work well in achieving rapid weight loss in short periods of time.
